Afghan Defense: 284 Taliban militants were killed during military operations

The Afghan Ministry of Defense announced that 284 Taliban militants were killed and 205 others were wounded, following clashes and mutual attacks by Afghan security forces in 12 provinces across the country during the past 24 hours.


The ministry said - in a statement reported by the Afghan Bakhtar News Agency, today, "Saturday" - that the security forces targeted Taliban militants in the provinces of "Nangarhar", "Khost", "Wardak", "Kandahar", "Jawzan", "Sar-e-Pul" and Samanjan, Balkh, Helmand, Takhar and Kabul.


The statement added that quantities of heavy and light weapons, ammunition and military equipment that were in the possession of the Taliban were destroyed, following the clashes and the raids.

Afghan security forces discovered 15 different types of mines, which had been planted in different parts of the country.
