Tunisia's Foreign Minister confirms his country's aspiration to give a new impetus to the strategic partnership with America

Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration and Tunisians Abroad Othman Al-Jarandi affirmed his country's aspiration to give a new impetus to the strategic partnership with America during the upcoming elections.


A Tunisian Foreign Ministry statement said that this came during a meeting with Al-Jarandi, the US ambassador to Tunisia, Donald Bloom, in the context of discussing ways to enhance bilateral cooperation and strengthen the bonds of the Tunisian-American strategic partnership.


Al-Jarandi affirmed his appreciation for the support provided by the United States of America to Tunisia, especially in the security, economic and health fields, and welcomed the completion of negotiations on the “Incorporated Tunisia” program of the Millennium Challenge Corporation, the total cost of which is estimated at more than 500 million US dollars, directed at improving infrastructure and strict disposal of Water Resources.


For his part, the US ambassador affirmed his country's tireless efforts to support Tunisia's efforts to confront the spread of the new Corona virus (Covid-19), and work to strengthen vaccination campaigns in Tunisia, in order to achieve the largest possible degree of collective immunity, which would It would contribute to restoring economic, cultural and tourism mobility.


During the meeting, the two sides discussed preparations for the virtual visit that US Deputy Secretary of State Wendy Sherman is expected to perform on June 25, which falls within the framework of further affirming the United States' support for the Tunisian democratic experience, and working to establish pragmatic economic programs that respond to the aspirations of the Tunisian people. The two sides reflect the distinguished level witnessed by bilateral relations.
