The United Nations and the Arab League will launch the Population Development Index next Sunday

The regional office of the United Nations Population Fund for Arab States and the League of Arab States will launch in a virtual event the Composite Index of Population Development next Sunday.

According to the United Nations Population Statement, the Index is a tool that allows tracking and measuring population-related achievements and development progress in relation to the implementation of the ICPD Program of Action and related sustainable development goals from the perspective of population development in the Arab countries.

The Population and Development Composite Index, issued by the Regional Office of the United Nations Population Fund for the Arab States, is a comprehensive measure and policy tool that monitors achievements that focus on individuals as the focus of economic and social development.

Dr. Haifa Abu-Ghazaleh, Assistant Secretary-General, Head of the Social Affairs Sector of the League of Arab States, Dr. Fawzi Al-Mahdi, Minister of Public Health of the Republic of Tunisia, President of the Arab Population Council, and Dr. Louay Shabana, Regional Director of the United Nations Population Fund for Arab States will speak during the event.
